SITTING BABY SESSION?
Milestone photography for your older baby!
An older baby session is designed for babies who can sit confidently but aren’t yet walking, which is usually around 6-10 months.
This stage is perfect for photography because your baby’s personality is starting to show, they are full of smiles, and still happy to stay in one place long enough to capture a variety of images.
Sessions are kept simple and uncluttered, so the focus stays on your baby and their personality, rather than props or distractions. And of course we include family photos too!
what to expect at your
OLDER BABY PHOTOSHOOT
Your session takes place in my warm, welcoming studio in Olney, near Milton Keynes. It’s been designed to help both you and your baby feel completely at ease.
We take things at your baby’s pace, allowing time for breaks, cuddles, and lots of fun!
There’s no expectation for your baby to “perform” and every baby is different. Some are full of smiles, some are quieter and more curious. Both are perfect, and both create beautiful images.
The ideal time for your milestone photoshoot is when your baby can sit unaided but isn’t yet on the move. But every baby develops differently, so if you’re unsure, you’re always welcome to get in touch and I can guide you on the best timing.

Can parents and siblings be included?
Absolutely!
While the focus is on your baby, you’re always welcome to step in for a few images together. These often become some of the favourites photographs from the session.
What should my baby wear?
Simple, comfortable outfits work best.
Soft colours, neutral tones, and gentle textures photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your baby’s expressions. I have some of my own outfits in my client wardrobe that you can use for your baby, too! I’m always happy to guide you before your session so you feel confident in your choices.
How long does a sitting baby session take?
Sessions typically last around 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on your baby. We keep things relaxed and flexible, allowing time for snack or cuddle breaks if needed.
When is the best age for a sitting baby photoshoot?
The best time is when your baby can sit confidently without support, but isn’t yet crawling or walking, which is usually around 6–10 months.
My baby isn't sitting - can I still book?
Yes! Every baby develops at their own pace, and that’s OK!
We can capture whatever milestone your baby is currently at. Smiling, giggling, sitting with support or tummy time.
