MATERNITY PHOTOGRAPHY
The wait before your baby arrives is special and you will love to look back on this time and see how your body has changed.
what to expect at
YOUR MATERNITY PHOTOSHOOT
Your maternity session is best scheduled between your 30th and 36th week of pregnancy, when you have a nice round bump and still comfortable to move around. If you are expecting twins (or more), or are likely to have your baby early, we might decide to schedule your maternity photographs around 28 to 30 weeks. You can choose to reveal as much or as little of your bump as you want to – some expectant mummies want to show a silhouette, whereas others like to reveal all! Whatever you decide, your images will reflect your personality, show your excitement and help you to record and enjoy this special time.
Nine months really do flash past, and you will quickly have your little one in your arms. The wait before your baby arrives is special and you will love to look back on this time and see how your body changed as it nurtured your child as she grew. It is an honour to be a maternity photographer and capture memories of this important stage of your life. Portraits can be of mama on her own, with your partner or including siblings too.

“Emma put me at ease as soon as I walked through the door. She is such a wonderful woman! I’m very awkward infront of a camera, but with her guidance, she took some amazing pictures that I shall treasure forever.”

FAQ
Pregnancy is an exciting time, but it can also come with lots of questions
Here are some of the most common questions I’m asked, to help you feel comfortable, confident, and ready to enjoy the experience.
When is the best time to book a maternity photoshoot?
The ideal time for a maternity photoshoot is usually between 28 and 36 weeks, when your bump is beautifully visible but you’re still feeling comfortable enough to enjoy the session.
Every pregnancy is different, so we can always adjust timing to suit you. The most important thing is that you feel your best.
Do I have to bring lots of outfits?
You don’t need to worry about what to wear. I’ll guide you every step of the way! You can bring anything that you love and feel great in. Flowing fabrics, soft textures, and fitted pieces that highlight your bump all photograph beautifully.
However, I have a wide selection of carefully chosen outfits available in the studio, designed to flatter and help you feel confident. You can choose to wear one of these, or bring nothing and choose everything from my selection. My aim is simple – to make you feel amazing in your own skin.
I don’t feel very confident in my body. Is a maternity photoshoot still for me?
You are not alone in feeling this way. And yes, it absolutely is!
Pregnancy can feel quite alien, with your body’s changes, and it’s completely normal to feel unsure. My approach is gentle and guided, with flattering lighting and posing that focuses on your strength, your shape, and this incredible stage of life.
Most women leave their session feeling far more confident than when they arrived. For me, that’s just as important as the photographs themselves.
Can my partner or children be included in the session?
Yes, absolutely.
Maternity sessions are a beautiful way to capture your growing family, so partners and children are always welcome. We can create a mix of images, some focused just on you, and others that include those closest to you.
How much does a maternity photoshoot cost?
I find that most people don’t want DOZENS of images to choose from at their Maternity session, so I offer a fixed price session with five images included – £225.
However, you save £75 if you book this at the same time as the Ultimate Newborn session. It basically makes your newborn session free to book!
