Pregnancy is such a magical time of change, anticipation and excitement. Nine months really do flash past, and you will quickly have your little one in your arms.  The wait before your baby arrives is special and you will love to look back on this time and see how your body changed as it nurtured your child as she grew. It is an honour to  be a maternity photographer and capture memories of this important stage of your life. Portraits can be of mama on her own, with your partner or including siblings too.

Your maternity session is best scheduled between your 30th and 36th week of pregnancy, when you have a nice round bump and still comfortable to move around. If you are expecting twins (or more), or are likely to have your baby early, we might decide to schedule your maternity photographs around 28 to 30 weeks. You can choose to reveal as much or as little of your bump as you want to – some expectant mummies want to show a silhouette, whereas others like to reveal all! Whatever you decide, your images will reflect your personality, show your excitement and help you to record and enjoy this special time.

You can book a maternity session on its own, and the booking price includes digital images from your session. If you decide to book a newborn or first year package, then you get a reduced price on your maternity session! I’m a maternity photographer in Olney and cover Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes.

You can see some of my maternity photography here.

Get in touch and find out more

Get in touch, either via my contact form on the website, by emailing hello@capturethelightphoto.co.uk or by giving me a call on 07801 811626.

I’ll then let you know what appointments I have available. If you are able to come in Tuesday-Friday, I usually have spaces within a week or two. However, if you require a weekend, or a specific time of day, then it’s a good idea to book a month or so ahead of time as these are popular and get fully booked!

Booking in

Once you have decided that I am the photographer for you, we will book you into the diary.

To secure your session, I will send you an invoice for the booking fee. Once this is paid, your appointment is secured. If you are booking a maternity session with a newborn session, then you will save £70!

Preparing for your session

If you have any specific requests for your session, I’d love to know about them.

I have a seleciton of maternity dresses that you can use, or you can bring your own clothes if you’d prefer. Your partner and your children are welcome to join in, or you can come on your own – it’s up to you!

I’ll send you a few hints and tips on how to prepare for your session and what to bring with you.

At the end of your photography appointment, we’ll make an appointment for you to come back to view and order your edited images. This usually takes place around a week or two later.

This is your opportunity to select your favourites and decide what you would like to purchase from your session. You can also request any special editing that you would like to take place, too.

Your order is usually delivered within 4 weeks. All wall art comes with a string or a hook and is ready to hang on your walls!
