Embracing the Natural Beauty of Your Baby: Introducing Our New Unposed Newborn Photography Sessions
I am an experienced newborn photographer based in Olney, near Milton Keynes. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of capturing thousands of precious babies through posed newborn portrait sessions. These portraits are meticulously crafted to highlight the delicate beauty and innocence of newborns, with carefully arranged props, backdrops, and lighting.
I love creating each setup with co-ordinating textures, colours and props and creating something unique for every family. However, I have noticed a shift where more and more parents are requesting neutral colours, minimal props and more natural setups. Therefore, I am excited to introduce a fresh, new approach to newborn photography that caters to families who prefer a more relaxed, and natural look: our unposed newborn sessions.
There are some big differences between posed and natural newborn photography, both in the style, the session itself and the finished images. I’m here to help you understand what makes this new style of photography special and why it might be the best fit for your family’s unique story.
Organic Moments
Natural newborn photography embraces the beauty of organic, unposed moments. These sessions focus on capturing the genuine interactions and emotions between the baby and their family. We do away with the colours and props and use whites and creams. The only props needed are parents and siblings!
Asleep or Awake
Rather than waiting for baby to sleep to direct them into specific poses, natural sessions allow the baby to move freely and interact naturally with their surroundings. Whether asleep or awake, just a few blankets and a white vest is all we need for the session. This style captures your baby’s personality and the bond they share with their parents and siblings.
In my natural newborn photography sessions, the use of props is minimal, if not entirely absent. Instead, the emphasis is on the natural environment and the genuine moments that unfold. Simple elements like a cosy blanket or a favourite stuffed animal may be included to add a personal touch, but your baby is the star of the show.
